Hi, my name is Abby and I'm currently a sophmore at URI. Last year I spent my time taking courses at Rhode Island College in Providence. Although the school was fun, I thought I would be happier here so I decided to transfer. I was born and raised in Hopkinton, Rhode Island and I attended Chariho High School. Throughout high school I was involved in several clubs as well as sports. Although I don't currently play any sports I am using my time to volunteer at preschools and I also babysit during the week and on the weekends for several different families. Besides work, I love to have fun. I mostly enjoy the beach and swimming during the summer, along with shopping and traveling to where ever, whenever, and also snowboarding in the winter. All the practice I have been getting at the preschools, camps, and babysitting will hopefully benefit me in the future. I plan to apply to the early childhood education program and hopefully continue on as a teacher for the preschool through second grade ages. These first couple weeks at URI have been fun and very interesting. So far I am having fun with my new and old friends as well as enjoying my classes.
